Sell the back-office software a niche of small kitchens can't build for themselves

Sprwt · See the business →
Who it’s for
Someone with software or operations skills who wants to build a small subscription product for one narrow type of small business.
The lesson
Sprwt sells one all-in-one system (ordering, recipes, labels, routes, marketing) to a single narrow group: meal prep and catering kitchens. The founders began by building what a few early customers asked for, and they kept doing that. A newcomer can copy the narrowness and the customer-led building, without copying the size.

Who pays and why

The buyers are owners of small food businesses: meal prep brands, caterers, personal chefs, and restaurants that sell food to go. They already take orders, and the work is the mess behind them: who ordered what, which meals contain which allergens, how much to cook, what to label, which driver goes where. A single system that replaces a patchwork of spreadsheets and generic store tools is worth a monthly fee to them. The entry plan costs less than a part-time shift.
